Trayvax Element

The Element is one of the more stylish wallets Trayvax has to offer. It is made of leather and metal, and we'll talk a little bit about each of those materials.

The leather on the wallet is top grained and oil-tanned. It's basically the same leather we see in some high-end shoes (such as Red Wing) and you just know that it's going to last you for years. As for the frame of the wallet, it is made of stainless steel - one of the most durable metals ever.

The wallet comes in 8 color combinations; there are 4 different colors ofleather that you can choose from, and then between a raw metal or black metal frame for each. But every single one will have the Trayvax logo engraved, as well as the Made In USA line.

The Element wallet is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, and so you can easily stash it in the front pocket of your jacket. But it also has an attachment point, if you want to attach it to something inside your backpack, for example. That way you could just pull it out in a second, rather than search for it at the bottom of the pack.

So, what can you fit into such a small wallet? Well, it fits about 3-10 cards, which is plenty for your ID, driver's license, and credit cards. Seriously, if you have more than 8 credit cards, you might have a bit of an issue!

The back of the wallet also has a money clip, and it can hold approximately 5 bills. That's perfectly fine if you prefer to carry larger denominations, but not really if tend to carry a lot of tens and twenties around. But come one, who even uses cash anymore?

There are some other cool features on the wallet. One is a bottle opener that's integrated into the design of the frame, and I think it's pretty useful. Just remember how many times you desperately needed a bottle opener and there wasn't one around - that's never going to happen again with the Element. And there's also RFID protection if you are worried about high-tech thieves.

Trayvax Explorer

The Explorer is a passport wallet, and as such, it is much more suitable for airplane travel than most of the other ones. Remember all those metal detectors at the airport? Yeah, a regular Trayvax would probably make a lot of noise, but the Explorer definitely won't.

Yeah, you guessed it, this one does not have a metal frame like most others. But it does have two credit card slots that can hold up to 12 different cards. Plus there are little windows on each of the slots, so you can easily identify which cards are at the top - you can see that in the second photo.

The absence of the metal frame also means that this wallet is much lighter than the others. It weighs just a little over 2.5 ounces, and you will barely feel it on you.

So, the left side of the wallet has your cardholders, and the right side features a sleeve for your passport and boarding pass. That's pretty much all you'll need to have handy at the airport, and this Trayvax wallet ensures that you will be able to access it very easily. You can also slip some cash in any of the slots if you need to.

The Explorer is made of premium oiled latigo leather, which comes in just one color - Chestnut. That is a bit of a downside; I would have loved to see some variety here as we had with the Element. But it's by no means a deal-breaker, and just like with the previous wallet, the logo is engraved in leather.

Overall it's a very sleek wallet, but also incredibly stylish. If you want something modern and easy to use, but also travel-friendly, the Explorer is the perfect choice for you.
